I am offering clients the option to schedule telehealth (video/virtual) appointments in place of face-to-face appointments. This offers you the safety and convenience of receiving support wherever you are, including your couch, kitchen table, office, car - anywhere you are able to have a confidential space.
What is telehealth/teletherapy?
Why telehealth?
Please let me know if I can answer any questions or if you would like to schedule an appointment.
- Teletherapy sessions work much the same way as traditional therapy sessions with only one significant difference – the therapist and the client are not in the same room.
- Sessions are scheduled at a mutually agreed upon time by logging onto a secure and confidential video platform. We can see and hear each other in real-time during the session via the use of webcams and your computer audio. Through this virtual environment, we can interact with each other in very much the same way as we would in a face-to-face therapy session.
- We can 'meet' for one to two sessions to address an immediate concern or for on-going sessions.
Why telehealth?
- During these difficult times, we need a safe and confidential way to get support and know that we are not alone. COVID-19 has changed our world as we know it and we are still trying to figure out how to navigate all the uncertainty and stress.
- Even when we are not in the middle of a health challenge, telehealth can be a convenient alternative to having to deal with the traffic challenges of getting around in the bay area as well as the opportunity to connect at a location that is fitting for you.
- The benefits of telehealth are supported by research and has been shown to be as effective as in-person therapy. And thanks to a highly secure connection, our sessions will remain private.
- Telehealth requires no special software or technical skills. All you need is a computer (with an integrated camera). It’s as simple as that.
